Rod Blake

Rod was born in Montreal and through a series of moves spent most of his youth growing up as the step son of prominent Vancouver Stock Exchange financier/promoter Martin Gibbeson. This life-style encouraged an interest in mining exploration which led to a mining diploma from the B.C. Institute of Technology in 1971. From there, Rod played a key role within a group headed by renowned mine builder Chester Millar, who discovered the famous ‘Afton’ native copper mine near Kamloops B.C.

After seeing Afton progress through to production, Rod tried his hand in business product development and sales before completing the Canadian Securities Course and joining Canaccord in Vancouver as an investment advisor in 1986, where he remains today. Rod likes to think he takes a broad view of the investment industry while feeling most comfortable evaluating mineral resource projects. Rod believes that the diversified and healthy Canadian economy provides an excellent opportunity for investment.

I’m not a geo, and likely neither are you; I’m not a financial advisor, so do your Due Diligence!

I AM a scientist, researching, analyzing and writing some original material. I often present items I believe to be credible ‘facts’, which may subsequently be proven, or not.

Covering the ‘Energy Metals & Materials’; copper for 21 years, graphite for 9, lithium for 7, and cobalt for 3.

Recently, my ongoing precious metals coverage on gold and silver now includes the Platinum Group Metals.

It is his belief that the advent of a digital silver trading vehicle – fully backed by and redeemable upon demand for physical silver -will close the historic loop which began with silver as money, transitioned into fiat (un-backed) “paper promises” – and will now return silver (and gold) to their rightful place…as honest money.   or
